About Us
All about Delamere Forest Riding Club
Delamere Forest Riding Club was started in 1983 by riders local to Delamere Forest; a wooded area of 972 hectares which lies between Chester and Northwich in the Cheshire Plain.
Today we remain a small, friendly riding club with approximately 60 members. Many members are keen dressage riders but we also hold training events, Show Jumping, Combined Training, ODE, Arena Eventing, Horse Camp and a Fun Ride/BBQ.
Many of the members have been with us for years and others start their competitive careers with us before moving on into affiliated competitions.
We are affiliated to British Riding Clubs Area 20. Area 20 covers part of Cheshire, North Wales, Mid Wales, Shropshire, West Midlands and Staffordshire. We compete in Area 20 competitions; winning teams & individuals go on to compete at National Championships.
All of our events are open to both members and non-members although members will always get priority entries in the case of limited numbers.

I have been Delamere Forest Riding Club’s Chairperson ever since taking over in 2008. I work as a hospital based midwife, which involves shifts, but I still have time to enjoy owning and competing myself and to support the club at our many events.

I am the Secretary to the club having been a member of the club for about 20 years.

Sam Sansom
I joined DFRC in 2012, along with husband Brent, and found it such a friendly club that I was persuaded onto the committee for the 2014/15 season! You will see me at most types of competitions and training, either riding, being groom, or generally helping out.
